• I read this book to my Children when they were little. I bought this book as a gift to my Daughter to read to her children. The book was listed by Meadowland Media as condition new.It is not, it is used.
  I was very disappointed.
• Even if you do not know the original fairy tales these are amusing and brief. If you do know the original stories they are hilarious on an adult level and less scary but just as entertaining for children.
• This is a must have, I give them as gifts to mothers. Folktales, fairy tales, and fables are national standards in schools for Language Arts and Language Development. Why not give the kids a head start in education by reading them these classic stories, when they have to study them they will be ahead of the curve.
• This was just what I was looking for, something quick at night to read to my kids. What a genius idea!
• A favorite of mine when I was a child, this book includes pictures and stories that will introduce children to common allusions in Western literature. I purchased this book and intend to use it to expose my high school AP English students to allusions.
• I used "One Minute" bedtime stories with both of my children. As working parents, we would sometimes come home waaaay too tired to read a full length book but wanted to keep to our duty to read to the kids every night. WHAT A LIFESAVER! You can easily read 2-3 stories if the child wants "just one more". Or, read a full length book and use one of the stories in this book for the "just one more". Today our young adult and teenager are avid readers. My kids can go through a full length book in less than two days. They recommend books to me and I share what I've enjoyed with them. Their reading skills are at least 2 levels above their present grade levels. Yes, reading to your children consistently is KEY and if you do nothing else, read to them. The kids love to read and I know that being read to from the time they were 6 months old until they were skilled enough to read to us is a major factor.
  
  Get it for yourself or as a gift for a new parent. I will never stop thanking the lady at work who recommended "one minute" to me when I told her of our struggles. 20 years later, I reap the rewards. Get this one or any variation of "one minute". I cannot recommend them enough for tired parents.
• The best bedtime storybook ever! When they ask for one more story - you can say "just one more" as many times as you want. You will love it and your kid will love it!
• Who would't love Shari Lewis's stories? Busy parents love this, the children love it, and you can read to your youngster every single evening and still have a little time for yourself. Why delve through a 20-minute book all the time? You eventually realize that you're reading less and less, skipping nights, not enjoying it. Get One Minute Bedtime stories, read a couple a night, and your little ones will love it and you will too. Very cute stories, lovely illustrations.
